Earlier today, the MAG Foundation, successfully held a WASH awareness campaign titled :Improving WASH Practices: Prevention of Cholera and Other Waterborne Diseases at Junior Secondary School Apo Resettlement.
We were honored to have distinguished guests and speakers who enriched the event with their insights and expertise:
🔹 Mrs. Veronica Augustine – Chief Medical Lab Scientist, Department of Public Health, Federal Ministry of Health, representing the Director of the Department of Public Health.
🔹 Dr. Idoko Rachel – Medical Officer, Zenith Medical and Kidney Center.
🔹 Dr. Asmau Adamu – Assistant Director, Special Sub-Community Engagement, Women Affairs Secretariat.
And Dr. Babatunde Kolawole, E.D, Restore Hope for the Boy Child Initiative.
Dr. Idoko Rachel provided a comprehensive overview of water, sanitation, and hygiene practices and their critical impact on public health.
Mrs. Veronica Augustine shared valuable insights on cholera, its transmission, symptoms, and prevention and demonstrated practical tips on maintaining proper hygiene, safe water storage, and effective sanitation practices.
We engaged the students with interactive sessions and a Q&A segment, where they eagerly participated and asked insightful questions.
Dr. Idoko Rachel discussed the importance of early detection and demonstrated simple health checks.
We captured memorable moments with group photos of speakers, students, and attendees.
I concluded the event with a call to action, encouraging everyone to adopt and promote WASH practices in their communities.
